Teens Need Summer Camp

Most teens want to do things for themselves and are bored by even the thought of a \”normal\” camp. Swift Nature Camp has created the Adventure Summer Camp program. It\’s special coed teen summer camp program that is just for teenaged campers up to 15 years of age, with a Counselor in Training Program for ages 16 and 17. Like its summer camp programs for pre-teens, Swift Nature Camp offers an amazing range of camp activities. Hiking, climbing, ceramics, horseback riding, tennis, kayaking, and whitewater rafting are among the most popular programs among teen campers.

Summer camps bring teens into a relaxed and fun-filled environment, foster self-esteem and independence, and challenge with new physical and creative activities. Summer Teen Adventure Camp is a special opportunity to make friends for kids of all ages, and teens are no exception. Most easily bored teens crave adventure. Swift Nature Camp offers their Adventure Camp program, opportunities to leave camp behind and take trips to the Apostle Islands, the International Wolf Center, or the Mississippi River.

Swift Nature Camp offers a small, intimate, friendly and non-competetive environment for all of its teen summer camp programs out of the belief that all children, especially those in their teenage years, enjoy this break from the competition of the \”real world\”. A positive, encouraging environment that fosters acceptance brings a welcome balance to young lives. First time campers quickly and smoothly fit in and feel at home in such an atmosphere.

Teens grow up too quickly and still are kids at heart, they too need to play. An Adventure Teen Camp should challenge your teen to do new things. Camp is not school! Interaction with animals can be a perfect way for a teenager to learn by natural discovery of play.

After living life in a beautiful natural setting among caring staff and instructors, teens come to love summer camp. Many teen campers return summer after summer, returning to see friends and enjoy the excitement, self-direction, and goofy fun characteristic of camp life. Summer camp is a great place to be oneself and a perfect place to make lifelong friends. Away from the pressures of home, school and competitive sports, teenagers discover themselves and thrive.

Traveling To Hastings – East Sussex

Hastings, located in the English county of East Sussex, is best known as the site of one of the most famous battles of English history. However, Hastings – East Sussex has many things to do from the historical to the fun filled for all the family to enjoy.

You cannot visit Hastings and the surrounding area, without finding yourself in the little village of Battle. In the year 1006, this was the site of probably the most dramatic battles of British history and would change England irrevocably. It was here that the Norman conquest of England came to a bloody end with King Harold II of England being convincingly defeated by Duke William of Normandy, who is now better known to the world as William the Conqueror.

At Battle you can take a tour around Battle Abbey and the area where the battle took place. The tour will fill you in on all manner of middle ages warfare and what was to become a defining moment in England\’s history. The Abbey on the site was constructed following the battle and from there the little market town built itself up around it.

Another important historical site in Hastings is Hastings Castle, which was the first Norman castle built in England. A few miles from Hastings is Pevensey Castle, with its ancient history that is said to go back 16 centuries to Roman times when it was originally constructed as a Roman fort. Following the Norman victory, the new king\’s half brother Robert took over and built a castle here incorporating some of the remains of the Roman fort into the design.

Nearby is Herstmonceux Castle, which was built in the 15th century by an ancestor of the actor Ralph Fiennes. This is the type of castle that you think of when you think \”medieval\” – with a moat to complete the picture. Surrounding the castle there are stunning Elizabethan gardens, which can be enjoyed in the warmer months.

Other great attractions around Hastings include the Smuggler\’s Adventure, which involved investigating the St. Clements caves. This spooky adventure takes you through subterranean caverns and teaches you about all the smuggling activity that used to go on in the area. One of the tunnels is 44 meters long and was used for storing contraband and smuggled items from the continent.

Hastings – East Essex is a great place for individuals and families to come face to face with some of the most important sites in British history. There is so much to do and see, be sure to devote enough time in your itinerary to really explore everything that the county has to offer.

Look for hotels in Hastings.

Places To Visit During Your Swansea Vacation

Of all the places in Wales many consider the county of Swansea the prettiest. The county is in the south west region of the country and includes the Gower peninsula and the Mumbles. In the following article I introduce the reader to some of the many things that account for Swansea being an excellent place in which to take a vacation.

Swansea

Dylan Thomas once referred to Swansea as an \”ugly, lovely town\” and at that time it may well have been but today the city is, almost, completely different. The reason for this is that during WWII the city was bombarded by air raids to such a degree that much of the city was destroyed. The subsequent redevelopment of Swansea has never really ceased and even in the last decade there has been a huge amount of investment in redevelopment.

One of the areas which has changed most drastically is along the seafront and the docks. Superb world class museums reside in this part of Swansea such as the National Waterfront Museum. Other superb museums found in the Maritime Quarter are the Dylan Thomas Centre and the Swansea Museum but you will also discover a host of cafes, coffee bars and shops as well as the fantastic LC leisure Complex. The LC is an excellent place to take the kids as it has such things as a climbing wall and a play area as well as the usual gym equipment.

Swansea Cafes, Pubs & Clubs

The nightlife in Swansea is centred around the areas of Kingsway and Wind Street. It is here that you will find some of the finest restaurants in the city as well as a wealth of pubs, clubs, bars and cafes. Popular places include the Italian Il Padrino and the Mediterranean/French La Brasseria.

At 46 The Kingsway you will find the wonderful, Latin American Cafe Mambo. In the evenings it becomes an incredibly lively venue but during the daytime it has a more laid back attitude and is a perfect place to have a light meal or snack.

One building which thankfully survived the WWII blitz is the wonderful 18 th century Cross Keys Inn on Mary Street. The Cross Keys is the oldest pub in Swansea but another old pub, which is considered to be one of the best in the city, is Wind Street\’s No Sign Bar.

The County Of Swansea

The wealth of first class visitor attractions and wild nightlife help make the city of Swansea an extremely popular vacation destination for young folk (or those young at heart). If you would like to take a more relaxing vacation then I suggest that you take a look at the county (rather than the city) where you will find such places as the renowned Gower peninsula and the stunning Mumbles.

The main reason why the Gower Peninsula is known so widely is that it is here that you will find what many consider to be the United Kingdom\’s finest beaches, Three Cliffs Bay. Rather than being a single beach the bay sports a selection and this whole coastline is littered with well known beaches, such as Rhossili Bay, and a multitude of lesser known smaller coves. The Gower Peninsula is also where you will find Swansea\’s best castles, Weobly Castle, Penrice Castle and Pennard Castle.

Besides the three castles mentioned previously you can also visit Oystermouth where you will find Oystermouth Castle. This area is becoming more and more popular with those people from Swansea who can afford the increasing property prices and as the city expands it becomes increasingly like a posh suburb. The region is more well known as The Mumbles but in actual fact the Mumbles are actually two little islets just off the coast. Taking a walk along the seafront is thoroughly enjoyable and the Mumbles are a fine example of a British seaside resort.

Close Your Eyes And Select Your Vacation

The principal summer family vacation is one of the most important dates of the year, yet it is surprising how little elbow grease people put into their choices. People walk into their travel agents simply to select a vacation simply on cost or because it looks OK in the picture.

A family vacation is one of the largest buys many families make each year and as such should be treated that way. Make a list of what helped to make an earlier holiday better than one that you did not enjoy as much. Do your kids love to spend time just playing in the hotel pool or do you like the fact that you were close to lots of eating places. Envisage going on a holiday where the swimming pool was not suitable for your kids or was too small for the number of holidaymakers staying there. The year before the kids spent all day at the pool and this year they couldn\’t, it is less likely they would love their vacation. If the kids are not happy you can bet the adults will not be happy either.

Merely by creating a list you could get possible ideas to help you better select your vacation accommodation. Some of the ideas people come up with do include the swimming pool, being near the beach or on a level position as they may have problems to get up a steep incline. The list could get quite big but at least you would then be able to have a better idea of what you are looking for rather than booking the first holiday you discover.

Many of the descriptions and accommodation listings will quite clearly list what amenities the accommodation has. The description should also list where the property is placed in relationship to the other lodgings and main areas of the holiday resort itself.

Do not fall into the trap of looking at what a hotel offers on one website and book it with a different one because it does not cost as much. It is possible that the more expensive site is more costly because it gives you more than the lower cost one. If it is not shown then you will need to determine to make sure you have access to all the same services and amenities. This is quite normal with kid\’s clubs, which in some cases are run by a vacation company for their clients and not holidaymakers who simply booked the accommodation only with another firm.

Simply by a little preparation you could spare yourself a lot of heartache by making sure the vacation you choose is more acceptable to you, than simply reserving the first vacation you find. Make sure you also shop around for the best deal as you will also find fluctuations in costs offered.

Why You Should Go To Saint Thomas For Your Next Trip

If you\’re looking for a great tropical atmosphere to visit during the cold months of winter, think about traveling to St. Thomas. This is a beautiful island located in the Caribbean Sea, and there are many reasons that I love visiting this destination as often as I can.

These are just some of the numerous reasons why you might decide to plan a trip to St. Thomas.

The most beautiful beaches are located here. If you love a nice relaxing beach with actual blue water, then St. Thomas is where you should go. You will find a lot of smaller ones that are not as crowed and they will offer you all the relaxation you would like to have on a beach.

There\’s also plenty of great food. There are many upscale restaurants on this island with talented chefs. If you enjoy eating gourmet foods and well prepared meals, then you\’ll have a huge handful of different restaurants to choose from when visiting St. Thomas.

There is a nice blend of beaches and mountains due to the unique topography of this island. Now, you are not going to see, let\’s say, the snow-capped mountains of the Rockies, but you will see some high points here with awesome views of the water.

It is very convenient that the native language on St. Thomas is English. How much easier it is to go to a place where everyone speaks the same language, not a different one. The fact that all the people on the island speak perfect English should make you happy.

People also enjoy the fact that they don\’t need a passport to visit. Since St. Thomas is part of the US Virgin Islands, this is truly an American destination. As a result, you won\’t need any form of passport or international identification in order to travel there.

Something to keep in mind when you are visiting here is that if you rent a car, remember that the cars drive on the left side of the road. This, as well as the fact that there are some pretty steep hills on the roads, can make driving here a little difficult.
